HUAC began from a simple idea. There should be a space on campus for students to make art. HUAC Founder, Isra Hamdi, came to campus as a bright-eyed freshman hoping to continue her love of painting, but was disappointed to see a void among the hundreds of campus organizations at Harvard. She believed there should be a way for students of all concentrations and all levels of experience to express themselves creatively through the visual arts. That is why she created the Harvard Undergraduate Art Club (HUAC). HUAC offers a relaxing, supportive environment for people who enjoy making art. HUAC provides the space and materials for students to make art while chatting, listening to music, eating snacks, sharing techniques, and growing together.
